MIDDLE TWP.--Fire officials say it could have been a lot worse for one Middle Township family, after a 400-gallon propane tank exploded in their house late Tuesday afternoon.

The family, who lives on Susan Lane, was home around 4p.m., when the tank exploded, a short time after being serviced by a private gas company worker.

While nobody was hurt, the Middle Township home did sustain damage, including part of the floor being ripped from the homes frame.

"Luckily nobody was sitting on the porch because it blew all of the glass out, the back pool area, the deck there was just covered with glass and all three sides, blew all the windows out, all three sides," says Chief David Zeiss of Green Creek Vol. Fire Company.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
