SOUTH JERSEY POLL SHOWS WHICH POLITICIANS ARE IN THE LEAD

GALLOWAY TWP.--The clock is ticking away until one of the most historical presidential elections of our time.
And in anticipation of Tuesday's Election Day, the Hughes Center at Stockton and the Press of Atlantic City released their latest South Jersey poll.
Likely voters in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Congressional Districts of the state were surveyed from October 27th through the 29th.
The latest results show, Barack Obama with 51.5% in his favor, over John McCain who is trailing at 38.6%.
Compared to a similar poll taken in September, Obama has gained 3.4 percentage points, signaling undecided voters are swayed in his favor.
In the race for the Senate, incumbent Democrat Frank Lautenberg has a 9.5% lead over Republican Dick Zimmer.
Lautenberg stands at 48%, Zimmer at 33.9%.
In district polling, 2nd District Republican Congressman Frank Lobiondo leads at 62% against his opponent, Dave Kurkowski, who stands at 26%.
And in district 3, Democratic Senator John Adler is in a dead heat with republican Chris Myers.
Myers has a slight lead at 38.5%, over Adler's 37.1%.
With a record number of registered voters this year in New Jersey, experts say a weak economy and a difference in political parties has made this year's vote most important.
"For the first time in a long time we really do have a big difference in the two political parties. And so people have to make real choices. We also have things happening in our environment, we have a war, we have job in the economy, that are really quite important in what's happening," says Sharon Schulman, Director
of the William J. Hughes Center at Stockton.
If you are a registered voter but cannot make it to the polls on Tuesday, you still have a chance to request an absentee ballot at your county clerk's office on Monday until 3p.m.
Absentee ballots need to be submitted by the time the polls close, on Tuesday 8:00p.m.
