ATLANTIC CITY-- The American Idols Live! Tour is taking the country by storm making over 50 stops this summer including right here in Atlantic City. Jennifer Husko finds out a little summer traffic doesn’t keep these idols away from their fans.
Eager fans stood outside boardwalk hall early this morning hoping and waiting to meet their favorite American Idol before they take the stage for the Season 7 American Idol Live! Tour.
Fans said who their favorites were, "Who are we waiting for? Brooke White laugh!", "David Cook!!!", "Jason! Jason! Jason!", "David Archuleta definitely!", "Carly and Michael Johns are my favorite!"
But summer traffic clogged the highways into the shore resort causing a slight delay. One fan empathized, "We live at the Jersey shore so we understand."
Another said, "I heard they were stuck in traffic, I feel for them...I know they like to see their fans."
The top 10 Idol finalists say they're dedicated to their fans and since the tour began, have made it a priority to connect with them before each performance.
"They're just so supportive and that's what fans are all about...they keep you going," said Syesha Mercado, American Idol finalist. And have kept them going because they were the ones that repeatedly voted and got them where they are today.
American Idol winner, David Cook said, "It's obviously something I've dreamt about for a long time I think to see it come to fruition is really kind of vindicating and gives me a lot of momentum moving forward."
"Yeah, it's all very strange, but awesome new life we have," explained finalist, Brooke White.
The idols never thought it would happen for them, and now that it has, hope to inspire others.
13-year-old Marlena from Sewell said, "That's actually my dream, because I'm a singer."
Finalist, Jason Castro explained, "It's just better to do what you love."
"Go out there and show them your personality and who you are," said Mercado.
"Have a lot of patience...and be really determined, if this is really what you want go for it," said Finalist, Ramiele Malubay.
If you're looking to become the next American Idol you’ll have your chance August 19th when Season 8 Auditions come to East Rutherford, NJ.
Along with the summer tour, American Idol winner David Cook is working on his debut album that is due out this November.
