CAPE MAY CO.--- State Police arrested 47 year old, Robert Martin, early Wednesday morning, for allegedly displaying pornographic material, including a topless Barbie doll, in his car, which he regularly parked at a Garden State Parkway service plaza.

The 1989 Lincoln, had been routinely parked at the Ocean View Service Plaza, for the last few weeks, according to Christie Ostrander, who works at the State information center in the service plaza, "....nobody should have to be exposed to that."

State Troopers arrested Martin, early yesterday morning, after he pulled into his usual spot at the service plaza. Seized as evidence in the car, a number of explicit X-rated DVD's, and porn magazines, along with, of all things, a topless Barbie doll.

"....The things were strategically placed on the dashboard and on the seats....there was a thong on a gold platter," said Ostrander.

Martin was charged with 'maintaining a public nuisance', and also for possession of a weapon, after investigators found a pointed 'shank' in his car. He was released, after posting $500. bail.

"...It was majorly, way over-blown," said Martin, late this afternoon, at the Atlantic City boat yard, where he works, "....the police were trying to make it sound like I had a shrine set up, or that everything was in public view, which it was not."

Martin says he parked his car at the rest stop every morning, and then car-pooled to Atlantic City with co-workers. He also says he is in the process of moving to a new apartment, which is why he had the material in his car.

"...The only thing that was found up front was a topless Barbie doll on the dashboard, two DVD's in the console, the rest of the stuff was in the back seat....the only way that anyone would know there was anything in there was to walk up and actually look in the car," said Martin.
