WAR OF WORDS AT PLEASANTVILLE BOARD OF ED. MEETING

PLEASANTVILLE - "Any more outbursts from the public, you will be removed," said Pleasantville Board of Education President James Pressley tonight.
For the first time after being arrested twice in less than a week, the first on charges of driving while intoxicated and the second for making terrorist threats when he allegedly threatened a man with a gun, Pressley presided over a board meeting where some say his presence was not welcomed.
"I can't wait until you get picked up and go to jail," says Pleasantville resident Joseph Beard.
"Why are you still sitting on this board? You should have been removed when the drunk driving came up," says retired teacher Ethel Seymore.
And conflict between Pressley and other board members persisted as well.
This time the arguments were about making financial decisions without what some thought was proper discussion and procedure.
"Mr. President I think you're out of line, you made the motion but I understand why, pay backs," says Board member Jerome Page.
"Moving forward Mr. Page I have an attorney, thank you," Pressley snapped back at one point
At least one teacher says she can't take the bickering at Pleasantville Board of Education meetings anymore.
"The behaviors over the past couple of meetings have been so discouraging you will have my resignation tomorrow," says special education teacher Charlene Clark.
And some residents made their thoughts on Pressley clear.
"I'm asking you to step down as board president," requested Rick Norris.
"I mean you gave us a black eye, you made us look bad, you make yourself look bad."
Pressley's attorney Jonathan Diego says people have prematurely judged his client.
"Last time I checked at least in this country and this state and hopefully in this community, an individual is innocent until proven guilty."
Pressley indicated last week he does not intend to step down from the Board.
