ATLANTIC CO.--- Despite drawing national attention, the murder of four women, all found in a shallow creek behind several low budget West Atlantic City motels, remains an unsolved case.
On November 20th, 2006, the bodies of Kim Raffo, 35; Tracy Ann Roberts, 23; Barbara V. Breidor, 42; and Molly Jean Dilts, 20, were found in a marshy area behind a row of motels on Rt. 40, in the West Atlantic City section of Egg Harbor Twp.
The women, who investigators say had worked as prostitutes and had drug or alcohol issues, were dumped in the area after having been killed somewhere else. All four were found face down and shoeless, their heads pointed toward Atlantic City.
Despite an exhaustive law enforcement investigation, the killer or killers remain at-large.
"...They had been there for a period of time, they were subjected to the elements, they were in water, witnesses perhaps have not been plentiful," said Attorney James Leonard, who represented Terry Oleson -- a man, who although never called a suspect or even a person of interest, had been near the center of the investigation for a period of time.
Just this week, the Atlantic Co. Prosecutors Office announced that its putting new investigators on the case, a common practice according to Dr. John White, a criminal justice professor at Stockton College who is currently writing a book on serial murders, "....there's been a lot of cold cases in serial murder that have been solved after 4, 5, 6, 8 years."
White believes this case has a better chance of eventually being solved than not.
