ATLANTIC CITY--The Alley Cat Allies group was in Atlantic City Friday to educate people about their Boardwalk Cats Project, after an alleged attempted abandonment incident.
The group was on the boardwalk to tell others about their program after they say someone attempted to abandon a pet cat and its kittens at the boardwalk.
The group's mission is to make sure the feral cat population under the boardwalk remains healthy and stable, as well as making sure there's no new cats or kittens added to the mix, "The boardwalk project is for feral cats only, pet cats are not equipped to survive outside by themselves so not to bring pet cats to the boardwalk but that these cats are in fact cared for and managed,” said Elizabeth Parowski with Alley Cat Allies.
Alley Cat Allies have volunteers that monitor and care for the boardwalk feral cats.
