GALLOWAY TWP.--- After a three year absence, the ShopRite LPGA Classic is scheduled to return to the Seaview Country Club this coming June.

The week-long event is expected to draw 30 to 40,000 people -- great economic news for area businesses like Romanelli's Restaurant, which is only a chip shot down Rt. 9 from Seaview.

"...Seaview will send a lot of people down here to us," said server Debbie Arnold, who is also a longtime resident of the area, "....it (tournament) was here for so many years and I think that everyone loved having it here...the restaurants and the local businesses will thrive."

Literally next door to Seaviews Bay Course, where the LPGA Classic will be played, stands McGettigans 19th Hole Tavern, where owner P.J. McGettigan said he's familiar with the boon in business that the event brings, "....we almost double our business for that week."

The 54 hole tournament, which is scheduled for the week of June 14th, will have a $1.5 million dollar purse.

Since the tournament began in 1986, over $20 million dollars has been raised for charities in the area.
