NORTHFIELD-- David Evangelist has been hard at work, giving out trick or treat candy out in his Northfield neighborhood.
“It’s been real busy. We've given out a lot of candy so far and we have a long way to go. Here they come,” said Evangelist.
On Halloween the neighborhood dresses up and transforms into a hot spot for Trick or Treaters of all ages, who want to enjoy a safe Halloween.
“Its really great because its really safe. They block the streets. A lot of kids, you don't have to worry about getting hit by cars and they give out full size candy bars,” said Gayle McNenamin.
The warm weather brought out the neighborhood wide Halloween party, and everyone was invited.
Sheila Altomare, who travels with her children to trick or treat in the neighborhood, told NBC40,“they're very…. to have people come it's a really nice place to trick or treat. It's a beautiful neighborhood. They have been coming here for four years and they beg to come back every year. They look forward to it every year.”
Hot dogs, drinks candy and even sandwiches were offered to dressed up Trick or Treaters of all shapes and sizes.
Well the calendar says its officially Halloween but residents here say the day is bigger then that. The combination of the Philadelphia Phillies World Series game and day light savings is being described by residents around here as the best day ever.
“This is the best day of the year, plus I get an extra hour of sleep. How can you beat that,” said Jim Goldsmith.
On a busy Halloween, experienced Trick or Treaters can enjoy the simple things. Gabbi Reeves admitted that her favorite part of the holiday is ”, getting the candy and eating it”
