Somers Point man arrested after breaking into Ventnor home

VENTNOR - Police in Ventnor arrested a man they say broke into a home there late Thursday night.

Authorities responded to the 200 block of North Wissahickon Avenue around 11:15 p.m. Thursday, after a resident called saying they confronted a man who broke into the home and was found searching through the victim's wallet inside the kitchen.

After being confronted by the homeowner, police say the suspect fled, but was soon located by authorities.

45-year-old Alterrie Turner, of Somers Point, was arrested and charged for burglary and theft charges and was also charged for stealing a bicycle from a nearby home.

He's in the Atlantic County Jail on $20,000 bail.
