Low income seniors in Atlantic County now have a new way to access fresh fruits and vegetables.
The state's farm market produce voucher program, which is coordinated through the Atlantic County Division of Intergenerational Services, provides low income Atlantic County residents, ages 60 and older, with $20 worth of free vouchers.
Those vouchers can be used to purchase locally grown produce at participating farm markets July through November.
The county says they have received 1,000 of these vouchers which will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis at the county's senior centers and housing complexes.
