A South Jersey tradition returns to Wildwood.
The 91st Annual National Marbles Tournament got underway Monday morning at Ringer Stadium on Wildwood's beach.
The national competition for boys and girls, ages 8 through 14, qualified by winning local tournaments throughout the country.
"This is the best week of the year in my opinion," said tournament announcer Doug Watson, "I mean, I've had a blast ever since I've been playing as a kid, when I won the tournament, that year holds a special place for me. But coming back and helping out, and seeing all these kids have a good time, that's what it's all about. I love it."
The event is free to spectators with great views from the Wildwood boardwalk.
