The man who police say is responsible for a crash that injured a local on-duty police officer has turned himself in.
41-year-old David McAvaddy, of Egg Harbor Township, turned himself in to Hamilton Township police Monday morning. McAvaddy was wanted for assault by auto, driving while intoxicated, and reckless driving.
McAvaddy was involved in the crash in the early morning hours of April 25th on Route 40 in Hamilton Township that seriously injured an on-duty officer who was on patrol at the time.
McAvaddy is being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending $20,000 bail.
