OCEAN CITY -
The final night of competition kicked off in Ocean City Saturday night, as New Jersey’s most talented and determined young women competed for the Miss New Jersey crown.
The 24 contestants strutted their stuff onstage during Thursday and Friday night’s preliminary competition, as judges tallied scores for swimsuit, talent and eveningwear.
On Saturday night, judges selected their top 5, giving Miss New Jersey hopefuls one last chance to compete for the crown. Top 5 included: Cierra Kaler-Jones-Miss Coastal Shore, Sandra Okuboyejo-Miss Southern Counties, Lindsey Giannini- Miss Columbus Day, Devon Vanderslice-Miss Eastern Shore, and Brenna Weick- Miss Seashore Line.
Tension was high inside the Ocean City Music Pier, as a panel of six judges selected their final winner.
Judges select Miss Coastal Shore, Cierra Kaler-Jones of Galloway Township, as the 2014 winner of Miss New Jersey. Jones was Thursday night’s talent award winner giving a contemporary dance to Beyonce’s “Listen”.
Jones, a student at Rutgers University, will represent the state of New Jersey throughout the year and compete in the Miss America Pageant this coming September in Atlantic City.
