NORTH WILDWOOD -
The Mummers are back in North Wildwood for the Mummers Brigade weekend celebrating their 20th anniversary.
They kicked of the festivities Friday with a Pub Crawl down Olde New Jersey avenue in North Wildwood with a friendly competition among various clubs and local businesses.
Mummers don their costumes every January first to welcome in the New Year in Philadelphia.
The Mummers parade features unique costumes, music, and pageantry.
The group is making their annual stop in North Wildwood, boosting local businesses through their Pub Crawl and entertaining the South Jersey community in the process.
"North Wildwood has always been behind the mummers, so we're here to support them. It's all about family tradition and keeping it close to home," said Philly Mummer Thomas Otto.
"It's just to go out and have a good time and show the people in North Wildwood that we want to be a part of their community and we know that a lot of fans are down here for the summer," said Philly Mummer Jim Julia.
The fun continues as the parade and block party takes place Saturday on 2nd and Olde New Jersey avenues.
The block party begins at 3:30 P.M. followed by a parade at 4:45 P.M.
The event features the top brigades from this year's New Year’s Day parade in Philadelphia.
