Victim identified in fatal Pleasantville fire

PLEASANTVILLE - UPDATE: Authorities identify the victim as 51-year-old Wilfredo Ortiz, of Pleasantville.

The fire remains under investigation.

At least one person is dead after an early morning fire in Pleasantville.
The fire broke out around 3:15 a.m. Friday at a one-story home on the 400 block of Doughty Road.
Officials have confirmed that one person has died, but further details surrounding the victim are still unknown at this time.

At least one firefighter was hospitalized for unknown injuries, but authorities say he was not critically injured during the fire.

An NBC 40 reporter on the scene says the blaze was extinguished after a little more than fifteen minutes, but most of the home still suffered extensive damage.

Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is currently on scene and say the cause of the fire has been determined to be arson.
