Man wanted for DWI crash that injured officer

UPDATE:  Authorities say man who allegedly was driving drunk when he crashed into a police cruiser and injured an officer earlier this year has turned himself in.

David McAvaddy of Egg Harbor Township surrendered June 16th to Hamilton Township police and was charged with assault by auto, drunken driving and reckless driving.

A warrant has been issued the man police say is responsible for the crash that injured a local on-duty police officer.

Authorities say 41-year-old David McAvaddy of Egg Harbor Township is wanted for assault by auto and driving while intoxicated.

McAvaddy was involved in the crash last month on Route 40 in Hamilton Township that seriously injured an on-duty officer who was on patrol at the time.

Anyone who has information about McAvaddy's whereabouts is asked to contact Hamilton Township Police at 609-625-2700.
