HAMILTON TWP. - A head-on collision between two dump trucks caused major delays along a busy roadway for the morning commute.
It happened around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday when two tri-axle dump trucks collided head on while traveling along Rt. 50 in the Laureldale section of Hamilton Township.

Police say the trucks, who were contracted by Seashore Asphault, were traveling to and from the road paving construction project along Route 30 in Egg Harbor City.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver was the only occupant in both vehicles.

Both drivers sustained moderate injuries and were transported to ACMC City Division.

Authorities say they are keeping the road closed for now because they are worried about potential fumes in the air or chemicals that may have spilled onto the street or into a nearby field.

The crash is still under investigation.
