Authorities say a city man who was shot several times Sunday night, was taken into custody for an active warrant.
Police say just before midnight, multiple reports of shots fired sent authorities to the area of Stanley Holmes Village.
Upon their arrival, 21 year-old Sterling Spence was found on the 200 block of Robinson Avenue, after suffering several gunshot wounds.
Spence told police he was on Mediterranean Avenue when an unknown person began firing, but was unable to provide suspect description.
Police describe his injuries as non-life-threatening and say because Spence had outstanding warrants for his arrest, he was placed in custody for parole violation.
The shooting remains under investigation.
