Man rescued from jetty by Coast Guard crew

Posted: Updated:
CAPE MAY - The Coast Guard says they rescued a man from a jetty in Cape May Wednesday afternoon.

The man was fishing near the jetty in his 21-foot boat when a large wake, caused by a passing boat, forced him in to the water.

He then swam to the jetty.

The Coast Guard says a good samaritan radioed them for help. A nearby crew from Coast Guard Station Cape May rushed to rescue the man.

Coast Guard officials say the man was wearing his lifejacket when he was thrown overboard.
