National Transportation Safety Board investigators are trying to determine what caused a deadly small plane crash in the Mays Landing section of Hamilton Township.
The Navion-G single-engine aircraft was approaching Atlantic City International Airport when the pilot, Peter Kosogorin, 45, of Tall Timbers, MD, reported engine problems. The plane crashed in a wooded lot on Paddock Street on Friday night.
A total of four people were on board including: Alec Lewis, 23, of California, MD, Cheyne Austin, 23, of Lexington Park, MD, and Morgan Smith, 28, of Lexington Park, MD.
Officals say Morgan Smith was pronouned dead at the scene of the crash. Kosogorin and Austin remain hospitalized at Atlantic City Medical Center Trauma Division. Lewis has been treated and released.
The crash is still being investigated by the N.T.S.B.
