ATLANTIC CITY -
The Tropicana is "going blue" for a good cause...
The employees of the Atlantic City casino dressed up in blue to help raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The idea for the event was started by CASA, a non-profit dedicated to speaking on the behalf of abused and neglected children in the foster care system.
They asked local schools and businesses to "dress down" in blue Friday for a small donation.
As Tropicana General Manager Steve Callender tells us, it's a way to give back to the community.
"We raised over at thousand dollars last year and we're doing much better this year, and we're gonna keep going at it today, the employees pay five dollars to wear blue, and we put a little ribbon them, and some employees are wearing blue jeans so it's a relaxed day for them and it's something different," said Callender.
Evangelist Franklin Graham prayed on a sidewalk outside the Pentagon Thursday after his invitation to a prayer service inside was withdrawn because of comments that insulted people of other religions. More>>
