Interactive recreation area unveiled in Woodbine

WOODBINE - Woodbine is unveiling a new, interactive recreation area for the families of the community.

Mayor Bill Pikolycky and other local dignitaries were on hand today for the ribbon cutting of the "Born Learning Trail."

The trail is designed to use outdoor activities to help develop language and literacy development and to help caregivers understand how to best support early learning in outdoor everyday moments.

"Imagine the world if we had every child in our community ready to learn by the time they got to kindergarten, but the reality of it is it's not that way, so the United Way is working with a number of groups in providing opportunities to enhance learning for kids at a very young age," said John Emge of the United Way.

The park was built using a grant from the New Jersey Partnership for Healthy Kids.
