New Jersey advocates are pushing uninsured residents to sign up for health insurance as a deadline approaches.
Open enrollment in the new health insurance exchange ends at 11:59 p.m. Monday. People who try to sign up by then but can't complete their applications due to circumstances beyond their control will be given a grace period.
Federal officials hope nearly 100,000 New Jersey residents sign up for the coverage. As of the end of February, about 74,000 had enrolled.
The insurance exchange is a key part of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul. Coverage is available with subsidies for many residents, depending on their family size and income
