Charlisa joined the NBC 40 News team as a General Assignment Reporter in 2013.
Prior to becoming a member of the NBC 40 News Team, Charlisa worked as a television programmer for Discovery Channel/Animal Planet. She’s also held a variety positions at the network, cable and affiliate level working for the Disney ABC Television group as well as the New York FOX duopoly WNYW (FOX)-WWOR (CW) .
Charlisa received her Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland. Go Terps! She also obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Rider University. Go Broncs!
Some of Charlisa’s favorite work experiences were attending the ABC “Upfronts” and meeting the cast of all their primetime shows, ringing the NASDAQ Opening Bell while working for Animal Planet and being on the field game day standing next to giant NFL players while interning with the Baltimore Ravens.
Born on the beautiful island of Jamaica, Charlisa has since lived in 10 states and several countries, such as Germany, while growing up as an ARMY brat, which sparked her love of traveling. When she's not chasing down the day's news, Charlisa loves watching and playing sports, event planning and mentoring high school and college students.
