Winterizing your car -

Winterizing your car

Posted: Updated:
As South Jersey residents prepare to bundle up once again, it's always a good idea to make sure your vehicle is ready for the cold weather as well.

Triple-A recommends motorist use this simple checklist to determine if their vehicle is ready for the elements.
  • Officials suggest you have your battery and charging system tested by a trained technician.
  • Be sure to check your tire inflation pressure in the winter.  As the average temperature drops, so will your tire pressure.
  • Check your anti-freeze level when the engine is cold.
  • Also make sure wind shield wiper blades completely clear the glass with each swipe, especially when snow is expected.
  • Check all fluids, transmission, brake and power steering to ensure they are at or above the minimum safe levels, and lastly carry an emergency kit equipped for winter weather.
