A good Sunday evening to you South Jersey!
The morning stated off clear and then more and more clouds moved into the area. To our west, a low pressure over the great lakes tracked north eastward and continues to swing a cold front that will move through by the afternoon tomorrow. Tonight, we will be cloudy and temperatures will actually rise a little bit. We should be sitting around the mid 30's right before sunrise. Temperatures will climb up into the upper 30's and low 40's by mid day afternoon giving us daytime highs above freezing for the first time in a week. An intense Arctic High will build into the southeastern United States allowing for cold to reach us here in South Jersey and reinforcing more cold air.
The main story for Tuesday through Thursday will be the bitter cold. A couple models hint at some development off shore but right now the spread high cloudiness to the north and west, or over us on land. As of now, we could see a little snow on Wednesday but chances decreasing the further into the day we go. There should be considerable easing of the cold into the weekend. Temperatures will finally be more seasonable for a good series of a couple days.
