Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey learn to prep for emergencies

The Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey prepared for emergencies and storms today at The Nature Center of Cape May.

Presenters including Cape May County's Emergency Management Director helped the scouts learn about emergencies like hurricanes and what they can do in case of such an emergency.

Marty Pagliughi Director of Emergency Management in Cape May County stated, "It's good to prepare the children so that they're not afraid when their parents say we have to evacuate. We explain to them what shelters are, what it's like to be in a shelter..."

The scouts also toured the Avalon Pet Evacuation Trailer where residents pets are cared for during an evacuation. The girls donated blankets for the animals.
