Police are investigating two armed home invasions which occurred on January 1, 2014 in the City of Bridgeton.
The first home invasion was reported to police by staff at Inspira-Bridgeton at approximately 0000hrs. when the victim came to the emergency room to be treated for a head injury. The victim in this incident stated that he was at a girlfriend’s house on Station Hill Rd. when four to five black males, wearing hoods over their heads and masks covering their faces entered the residence. The victim stated that he attempted to flee from the residence when he was tackled to the ground and assaulted. The perpetrators held the victim and another occupant at gunpoint while the others ransacked the house. The victim reported $100 and a cell phone was taken.
The second home invasion was reported to police at approximately 0245hrs. This incident occurred in the 100 block of Irving Ave. The victim reported that three black males wearing all black clothing and ski masks forced their way into a home. The victim reported to police that all of the individuals were in possession of handguns, and that one was a silver revolver. The perpetrators demanded money and drugs from the occupants. The victim reported to police that a total of $2,000 and two cellular phones were taken from three adult victims and one child.
Detectives are currently investigating these incidents and are in the process of continuing to take victim and witness statements, as well as going over evidence that was recovered from both scenes.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding these crimes, to contact the Detective Bureau or the tip line where all information will remain anonymous.
