Judge approves Atlantic Club casino shutdown

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTIC CITY - The days are numbered for one struggling Atlantic City casino, after a federal bankruptcy judge approved Monday the sale and shutdown of the Atlantic Club Casino Hotel.
After being reached last week, a deal was approved today in which Tropicana and Caesars will buy the casino for $23.4 million and shut it down on January 13th.

Tropicana is taking the Atlantic Club's slots and table games and caesars will take ownership of the building itself ... Neither company is said to have any interest in operating the casino.

After the shutdown, Atlantic City will be down to 11 casinos.
