An update to a story we first brought you Tuesday, student veterans at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey spent all week creating something special out of their very own military uniforms.
First the vets cut-up and shredded their uniforms to make paper out of them. Once the paper was dry, each vet drew or wrote a combat memory on the paper. It's all a part of The Combat Paper NJ Project and is meant to help veterans heal through art.
Elton Link a U.S. Navy Veteran stated, "A lot of our veterans are coming back. I'm one of them - We don't talk about it. And getting together like this, a couple of days, we close off the doors and its veterans only."
The paper artwork will be on display during a student lecture at Stockton College Tuesday night. The lecture is free and open to the public.
