Pleasantville man faces weapons charges after homicide, subsequent standoff

A Pleasantville man faces weapons charges after being taken into custody Sunday afternoon.

George Neewilly, 23, faces second degree unlawful possession of a handgun and fourth degree aggravated assault with a firearm. 

Neewilly was arrested at a house in Pleasantville Sunday after the body of 21-year-old Kaneil Harris was found shot to death at the Egg Harbor Township Howard Johnson Inn.

During the homicide investigation, detectives found that after Harris' killing, a gun was shot off in a nearby hotel room.

Neewilly is not charged with Harris' homicide.
