A local man is recovering from a gunshot wound after an alleged drug deal gone wrong. It happened around 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Oyster Bay apartment complex on California Avenue in Absecon. The 19-year-old told authorities that he went there to buy drugs, but was instead robbed by two men.
The victim told police he was shot in the left leg after a brief struggle with one of the suspects, who was armed with a handgun.
After fleeing the scene, the victim checked himself into a local hospital. The suspects are being described as "high-school-aged" teenagers, who were possibly wearing Pleasantville High School uniforms. One of the suspects is believed to have short braids or dread locks, while the other is likely to be bald or have "very closely- shaved" hair.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Absecon Police Department.
