Nearly 2,000 people crowded the Atlantic City boardwalk Sunday, turning it purple for Alzheimer's awareness.
Supporters of the walk to end Alzheimer's raised more than $177,000 for Sunday's event. The money raised goes to the Alzheimer's association and will help fund research, caregiver support groups, early stage initiatives, consumer education, and community outreach programs. These services are offered to an estimated 85,000 in South Jersey who are affected by Alzheimer's or a related disorder and their families.
