Atlantic City to flush fire hydrants next week

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTIC CITY -

A heads up to City residents: the Atlantic City Municipal Utilities Authority will begin its fire hydrant flushing program next week.

The work is expected to begin Tuesday as workers will inspect and test the hydrants through Thursday, which could cause discolored water to enter the system.

The Municipal Utilities Authority recommends that residents run tap water for a sufficient period of time to ensure there is no coloration in your service lines, especially before running washing machines or drinking water.

Anyone with special questions or concerns can contact the ACMUA at 609 345 3883, extension 10.
