ATLANTIC CITY -
Nearly one year after Hurricane Sandy, a displaced Atlantic City resident had an emotional homecoming Friday afternoon.
It has been a long road to recovery for Hulda Wright, who says she nearly gave up hope until she reached out to the Atlantic City Long Term Recovery Group.
They helped Hulda not only recover emotionally from the storm, but also worked with the Joining Hands Volunteer Group... Together they helped get hulda back in her home.
"What would people like me do without an amazing organization like yours. You all have no idea how much every single stroke of paint and heavy laid tiles, every hug or smile, has meant to me," said Wright.
Hulda's home and two others in the building were completely renovated by the volunteer groups, who spent $100,000 to complete the project.
Most of that money was collected through donations and grants.
