Nearly a year after Hurricane Sandy struck, New Jersey says that 69% of the insurance claims handled through a state mediator have been settled with some form of payment.
414 claims were opened with the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance Mediation Program. The program was designed to help residents settle non– flood Sandy related open claims with insurance companies. The program is free to residents and intended to help Sandy victims settle their cases so that they can rebuild their properties as soon as possible.
Those who still have open insurance claims can visit www.adr.org for more information.
