GALLOWAY TWP. -
The Egg Harbor Township Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested 32-year-old Byron L. White, of Newtonville, for his involvement in the theft of motor vehicles in the township.
Police discovered that various disabled vehicles parked along the roadways in Egg Harbor Township were being reported as stolen. As a result of the investigation, Byron White was caught in the act of selling a vehicle known to be stolen to an auto salvage yard.
Officers located and arrested White at an auto salvage yard in Galloway Township. Four additional vehicles were located that had been stolen by White and sold. White was charged with five counts of motor vehicle theft in Egg Harbor Township.
White’s bail was set by the Municipal Court Judge John Rosenberger at $25,000 cash. White was released after after a bail bond was posted on these charges.
Additional charges out of Galloway Township are pending against White.
