Good samaritans help rescue woman from submerged vehicle
The quick action of a group of people enjoying dinner saved the life of a woman Friday night in Ocean City.
That's where a woman crashed her car into the bay, near the Ocean City Yacht Club at the corner of Battersea Road and Bay Avenue.
The car ended up completely submerged and was drifting in the current.
When those nearby heard the sound of the crash, they sprang into action.
Witness Bill McGinnity stated, "Just heard a very loud explosion, and as I got back into the water, we saw the car floating down towards the dock, fortunately she had an outgoing tide, it floated her right into the dock here where we could get her out through the driver's side window."
Police have released little details on the accident, however they say the driver was taken in for suspicion of drunk driving.
The driver was not seriously injured, however witnesses say she seemed dazed from impact of the crash.
