The government shutdown continues to have far reaching effects across South Jersey.
At the Federal Correctional Institution, Fairton in Cumberland County, essential personnel will only receive a week and a day's worth of pay in their next paycheck.
After that the funding will have run out and those approximately 300 employees will begin working without pay. Fairton is a medium security federal prison for men.
The prison's union president says that the employees there are working full shifts and worried about how they are going to pay their bills.
