FAIRFIELD TWP. -
Two people are behind bars after police arrested them in connection to the death of a Fairfield Township man. Police believe that the victim's daughter could be the one responsible.
"I was just shocked." When Chris Reynolds first heard that his neighbor was missing, he thought nothing of it.
But once he heard that his neighbor was found dead, he began recalling some unusual conversations he had with the missing man's daughter leading up to the man's disappearance. "The people that were living with him said they were all going to go on vacation."
When family members of 61-year-old Michael Dixey began to worry, they reported his disappearance to the police. Police discovered what they believe is Michael Dixey's body on Wednesday in a wooded area off of Clarks Pond Road.
Two people, including his own daughter are now behind bars in connection with his murder. 32-year-old Kandice Dixey and her boyfriend, 21-year-old Norman Kacewich.
"They didn't seem like they were capable of it," said Reynolds. "But ill tell you what, they were the ones that had told me they were going on vacation. So it kind of makes sense."
The daughter and her boyfriend became suspects after police reviewed Dixey's financial records from the day of his disappearance. It was discovered that both suspects had traveled to Elkton, Maryland."
Dixey and Kacewich were arrested in Maryland on charges of theft in relation to a stolen credit card, belonging to her father.
Dixey is charged with first degree murder. Both the daughter and her boyfriend are charged with desecration of human remains, and hindering apprehension.
Both Dixey and Kacewich are being held at the Cecil County Detention Center in Maryland pending extradition hearings.
