In Egg Harbor City Saturday, some local boy scouts got an up close look at the work of emergency responders.
This year's Autumn Adventure Jamboree brought police, firemen and rescue workers from around Atlantic County to Egg Harbor City Lake Campground to demonstrate their work for the scouts.
The "camporee" covered a pantheon of topics ranging from boating and water safety to archery, fingerprinting and even amateur radio.
Scout leaders say today's demonstration showed the boys how to exemplify the scout motto.
Shirvan Acosta the Chair of the Autumn Adventure Camporee stated, "Our motto for scouts is be prepared, and these emergency responders and scout leaders are coming together to teach these scouts important skills and how to be prepared."
The Camporee is held annually by the Boy Scouts of America's Jersey Shore Council.
