National Guard members throughout the state have also been affected by the government shutdown, resulting in hundreds of furloughs of full time employees.
Officials say only 60 federal technicians and civilians at the 177th Fighter Wing in Egg Harbor Township are considered "accepted" personnel, meaning they are critical to maintain daily operations and have been kept on during the shutdown.
Of the nearly 1,000 federal technicians and civilians with both the Army and Air National Guard in the state, officials say only about 140 have been kept on, the rest of the nearly 860 have been furloughed.
