The Local American Legion Hall welcomed its second ever "Wounded Warrior" to the South Jersey Shore.
Locals lined the street outside the Ventnor library to show their support for an American hero. Sergeant Adam Alexander was severely injured while on duty in Afghanistan and has spent the last year recovering from critical head wounds. Residents waved flags and carried signs to show support for the sergeant, as he and his wife were escorted in a motorcade along Atlantic Avenue in the down beach towns. Assemblyman Chris Brown was among the well wishers. As the motorcade turned around, the crowd rushed into the street to thank Sergeant Alexander for his service. As luck would have it, the couple who now live in Wisconsin, also celebrated their first wedding anniversary today. And, Sgt. Alexander and Kate, will continue to celebrate the milestone during their week long stay with free dinners, shows and even an airplane sight seeing tour of the coastal area.
