Every child deserves the chance to play on a playground.
Now a park in Absecon will make sure that every kid gets that chance. As kids took the field at the Absecon Field of Dreams Saturday, they had an extra reason to smile, as a ribbon cutting officially opened a new playground designed specially for physically or cognitively impaired children. The construction of this playground was made possible by Amerihealth Caritas Partnership and Performcare. Officials say the park offers something new for South Jersey residents.
Kate Hopkins, with the Amerihealth Caritas Partnership stated, "What's special is that its handicapped accessible and that it's the first of its kind in this area for all children to enjoy the playground."
The South Jersey Field of Dreams is a ballpark designed specifically for physically and developmentally disabled children to play baseball. The league is free to all participants.
