Happy Saturday South Jersey!
Today, we say goodbye to the last official day of summer. As we do, we can recall what this final summer day has brought us. There was lots of sun early this morning where now clouds are beginning to increase. Plenty od Saturday still left for us and clouds will eventually fully dominate the sky as a cold front moves in from the west. Ahead of the cold front, showers will creep in for the nighttime and early morning hours here for us along the coast. Temperatures tonight are looking to dip more into the mid 60s on the mainland and at the shore. Once we get past this quick moving cold front the synoptic pattern will look to favor us next week. Autumn is looking in to coming in with a bang for tonight but the first week looks as id it will be shaping up to be seasonably pleasant.
We are looking to see a large ridge in the jet stream for next week with a surface high pressure that will lightly guide us into fall. Temperatures by Monday will lightly sit in the lower 70s on the mainland and upper 60s at the beaches for most of the week. As we stay dry, we stay slightly below seasonal average up until next Friday where there should be just a slight "warm up" that will bring us back to mid 70 temperatures.
Happy final day of summer South Jersey!
Until next time,
Meteorologist Sydney Daniel
