A touching ceremony in Dennis Township is held in honor of those soldiers missing in action or taken as prisoners of war.
NBC 40'S Own Michelle Dawn Mooney started the ceremony off with the national anthem. After that, veterans spoke in turn about the significance of this day of remembrance. Including the tradition of setting an empty chair at each VFW meeting to ensure that we never forget.
CMDR. Harry Clayton Stephen C. Ludcam post #331 stated, "This is a reminder to all of us to spare no effort to secure the release of any American prisoners from captivity, the repatriation of the remains of those who died bravely in the defense of liberty and the full accounting of all those missing."
POW MIA recognition is held the third Friday of each September here in the United States.
