Firefighters in Atlantic City battled an early morning blaze that threatened one family, including at least three children.
Firefighters responded around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday to an apartment on the 500 block of North Kentucky Avenue between Caspian and Wabash Avenues.
Officials say the fire that began in the dryer quickly spread, and caused major damage to the kitchen.
An NBC 40 reporter on the scene says a mother and at least three children were able to escape the home without injury.
Firefighters spent several hours in the apartment airing out the heavy smoke with fans.
