State officials were at the scene Monday of last week's devastating boardwalk fire in Seaside Park and Seaside Heights.
Boardwalk business owners are meeting Monday afternoon and night with officials from state agencies, the governor's mobile cabinet, to get assistance and information on rebuilding. Law enforcement says that a news conference will be held as early as Tuesday about the cause of the fire. Sources say authorities are very close to revealing their findings.
The Governor's office also announced grant money earmarked for Sandy–recovery efforts will be used to quickly remove debris from the inferno scene and help the two resort communities rebuild as quickly as possible.
"We can do that with one simple contract to get that process started sooner rather than later then we can start the process of rebuilding," said Mayor Bill Akers of Seaside Heights.
Firefighters raced back to the wreckage in Seaside Park Monday afternoon, to douse another flare up.
