The 53 Miss America contestants took the stage for the final night of preliminary competition leading up to the finals this weekend.
Thursday night, it was Miss New Jersey, Cara McCollum's turn to perform her talent after having already completed the swimsuit and evening wear portions of the pageant Tuesday and Wednesday.
McCollum performed Malaguena by Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona on the piano, but it was Florida's baton twirling with reportedly an injured leg, that took the top score in talent. Miss Georgia bested the competition in swimsuit.
The top preliminary scorers will now compete Sunday night when a new queen will be crowned.
